Oso Libre Wines

Our Wines

Oso Libre produces award winning, artisanal wines from our estate and locally grown premium grapes.  Utilizing varietals that thrive in the Westside Paso Robles area ensures wine quality as well as sustainability. We strive to represent the terroir of each vineyard to ensure those special qualities are presented in the resulting wine.

Our philosophy as wine makers is to allow the natural process of wine making to prevail; focusing on minimal manipulation of the wines to allow the unique characteristics of the fruit to shine through.  Limited production affords us the luxury to closely manage our lots for quality and consistency, producing delicious and memorable wines.

Stylistically inventive, we at Oso Libre are inspired by the progressive California winemaking spirit and we offer both traditional and unique proprietary wine blends. Our limited production estate labels include Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and MourvĂ©dre.  These are produced as traditional single varietals as well as innovative red blends and rare late harvest dessert wines. Our product line is diverse because we make the wines that we like to drink.

Paso Robles in particular is developing a reputation for experimentation in new and exciting types of wine and we feel proud to be in the vanguard of this movement to bring more enjoyment to wine lovers everywhere.

Our estate labels include limited production wines of Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Mourvedre labeled as traditional singe varietals as well as distinctive red blends and rare late harvest dessert wines. Techniques such as multiple harvest fractioning, grape sorting, open top fermentation and exhaustive blending trials coupled with tried and true best practices allow us to produce well-balanced and properly characteristic wines.  Some of our Estate wines are aged in wine barrels made of 100-year-old white oak trees from the Zemplen Forest of Hungary. These trees are set on steep rocky hillsides with high mineral content, which impart unique and well paired aromas to our wines.
