We are oficially members of the educational organization that is dedicated to promoting and celebrating the American Rhone Varietals. As a member winery, we will be participating in local and regional events throughout the year. Our first event was today, which was held at Broken Earth Winery on Highway 46 on the east side of Paso Robles. The Paso Robles Rhone Rangers Experience, was attended by lovers of all wines. But it was the perfect day to learn about the Rhone Varietals. The event started with a "Rhone Essentials" seminar, followed by a Vintner's Lunch, and concluded with the Grand Tasting and Silent Auction. All 50 of the Member Wineries participated in the Grand Tasting, and all were pouring their most delicious Rhones. We poured the '12 Volado, our blend of Viognier, Roussanne, and Marsanne, and the '11 Carnal G.S.M., our tantalizing blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre. Both were big gold medal winners for 2014, and got rave reviews by the tasters.
We will also be participating in a select few of the Rhone Rangers "Varietal Nights." Each event is held at a different winery in Paso Robles and features a Rhone Varietal. The first one is March 10, and is being held at Calcareous Vineyard. The featured Rhone will be the G.S.M blend. We will be pouring the '11 Carnal G.S.M., and I'm sure our "Brotherly" blend of these grapes will come out on top.
